Flying Crystal Dino by Nuclear-Shrimp Flying Crystal Dino by Nuclear-Shrimp
Or Spacegodzilla if you must. Again, like everything else, from the DS game. Except no distinct background this time :( I had this drawn for the longest time and then the inking took me forever because I was trying this tutorial for a different style. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I bailed haha. Here is the end product of a very neglected piece :cries:

I would like to use this opportunity to say I'm currently enrolled in a digital painting class so maybe, JUST MAYBE, I will get better and can fix these guys. THERE IS HOPE! :painter:

Cool! This came out great! He looked REALLY weird in the DS version of the game. He was WAY fatter than he was suppose to be lol. His fight was sort of uneventful and boring. It wasnt the big boss battle you would have expected it to be nor was he a very hard boss. But man, if only flying crystal dinos really existed. That would be AWESOME! :)

Haha! Thanks a whole bunch! :la: I totally agree though! I thought AT LEAST his size was gonna be bigger! The fight was actually pretty easy so it was disappointing :cries: Of course! Flying crystal dinos are the BEST dinos! xD

No problem!! He was a fat, red and purple blob of a dinosaur. His fight was so boring and easy! It should have been like the Mecha Ghidorah boss fight. Not only was he extremely HUGE for no apparent reason, but he was also a bit difficult.

Flying crystal dinos rule (as well as giant mutated ones that shoot atomic beams out of their mouths)!!

Yes! I guess that had a lot to do with the general simplicity of the game too. It wasn't too complicated or complex! Yeah if the Sphinx, Biollante, Mecha King Ghidora and even Ebirah to some extent, are all big, why wouldn't Spacegodzilla of all things, be huge! He's the last boss! Oh well! :P

I KNOW!!!!! AT LEAST it should have been a midboss. Mechagodzilla should have been as big as that!

Cool, Cool. The proportions seem odd, but that is half the fun sometimes with art. Just to make cooky dimensions and stuff. The shading looks good, but the inking line work doesn't look as smooth as the earlier ones. Those had big, black, and bold beautiful lines. (too many B words for adjetives lol). They seemed smoother. Still looks good! :)

Yeah I was trying this tutorial from this artist that only used the polygon pen tool and looked easy enough until I had actually been doing it. I didn't take enough time on this and was kind of in an art funk so it suffered. Oh well. Maybe later I can revisit it haha

Just the polygon pen tool. Yeck, that would be maddening to try and get something done. Eeesh. Then again, I always do my line work in illustrator. I can get smooth, mathematically proportionate lines that will keep their smoothness no matter if I shrink them or enlarge them. That and I can just pick each line and adjust widths and make stuff thicker where their is suppose to be a heavy outline. Then I just copy and paste that outline work to Photoshop and color it. So much easier. That is just something that I have learned to do through trial and error. A lot of freaking error lol.

Hmmm that's a good tip. I was just following along in the tutorial from this art magazine and the end product of the artist looked really good. I'll just have to work around to find a solid way of doing it haha. I find lots of cool tutorials in art magazines so I just like to try them all haha.

Yeah, I had a professor push alot of art books down my throat in college lol :P I mean it is good and all but he was trying to get me to copy them, and I just don't see that being helpful. Yeah it is great to learn how other people do stuff, but in turn you have to modify and tailor it to your taste and stuff. I mean that is what art is to me :) Gah, seems to long ago but that was only a couple of years ago I finish up college. Gah, 29 and the memories are starting to go lol! Man that's bad lol.

haha yeah I mean, I'm not going to art school or majoring in art, so I'm new to the whole scene! Just trying to take what seems useful versus what would be necessary for someone who wants to get an art degree. :P Haha oh well I'm sure I'll become like that soon enough!
